Sweet Girls

We were looking at pictures of my mother and her sisters this morning. Have you ever slept in curlers before? I can recall only a few times in my childhood experiencing that. The photos were all black and white from late 50's. It was great for my kids to see them, noticing all the changes and similarities. I wasn't so sure about the real bunnies for Easter part.
My mothers cousins always had curls in their hair. There were many dresses too. Throughout the first years, Elle had many beautiful dresses. My sister gave her quite a few and I was able to find some nice ones at a mom to mom sale. I hope to post some pictures of her collection.

A Baby Girl

She was a surprise to our life. The week we found out about her, we also learned of a new job for N in MN. We did not know where the future would take us, where she would be born, etc. We also were not sure if she was a boy or a girl. After having two boys, I tried not to get my hopes up about a girl. I would have loved a boy if that is what God planned. My grandmother prayed every day for a girl. I know that is why God gave her to us. The day she was born was one of the happiest days of my life. After her birth, our family was sent on a journey none of us expected. We had hard times, but somehow she made it easier for me. Her sweet nature and unconditional love gave me all I needed to get through the hard times. There is much more to come....
